Week 8 Homework

After such a wonderful excursion students crafted some amazing recounts. If you haven't read some of these please look at the comments in the last post.

This week we are reflecting on Nim's struggles being on an Island by herself. We will be having a lot of fun with Chance and Data and we will be drawing to a close our Wet and Dry Environments unit.

The following is this weeks homework.

Week 6 Homework

As we enter Week 6, I am excited to reflect on the learning that has taken place in Year 2 this year. I am encouraged by the students willingness to experiment and challenge themselves. This has been evident in the last couple of writers workshops. Many of the students published their imaginative writing and factual expositions last week as individual blog posts. If you haven't taken the time to read and comment on these please do. The students are encouraged by quality feedback and each time they receive this they become more willing to write for an authentic audience.

This week in Literacy we are continuing to reflect on the sustainability aspects of Nim's Island which links to HSIE - the layers of the rainforest and other wet environments such as the Ocean. In Science students will experiment more with water and look at the conservation and use of this precious resource. During Mathematics this week our focus is 3D space and Volume experiments.

This weeks homework is attached. I hope you have a blessed and productive week.
