Wood Work in Action

On Thursday Year 2 had the privilege to be taught by Mr Kennedy from the TAS Department of the High School. We were able to experience the manufacturing of our Toys for Katoke. Mr Kennedy was able to demonstrate how the car bodies were cut and shaped. He also cut the car wheels using a wood router. Students then spent the time sanding their car bodies and putting the different parts together. Early next term we will continue the process by painting our new vehicles and testing their road safety with some ramp tests.

The feedback from students has been "I love the hands on, it was the best, saw dust and all, except we wish we could have been down their longer". Year 2 are truly blessed to have the opportunity to use the facilities and skills of the teachers in the high school.
